ARTIST STATEMENT

My works are an exploration of meaning in local spaces that resonate with contemporary attitudes towards the natural world. There is a shift from memory of location to a shared psychological space that develops in the process of painting.

Referencing landscapes which have been shaped by human activity, weather conditions and natural processes, they often record a passage of time and change that expresses a sense of unease or vulnerability caused by environmental disharmony.
